MOLLY AMSTERMAJOR GIFTS OFFICER

Molly Amster became JUFJ’s inaugural Major Gifts Officer in 2024. In this role, she focuses on all the JUFJers who provide resources that are critical to enacting our mission.

Molly spent nearly 10 years as the founding Director of JUFJ’s Baltimore branch and its sister organization, the JUFJ Campaign Fund, and as JUFJ’s Maryland Policy Director. She is proud of the progressive Jewish community that has been built and the many campaign wins JUFJ has achieved with coalition partners over the years, including one of the most progressive paid family & medical leave programs in the US, right to counsel in evictions, permanent water affordability for Baltimore City’s most financially struggling residents, and banning Maryland law enforcement from conducting searches for cannabis odor alone.

She moved to Baltimore in 2007 as part of the first summer staff on the farm at the Pearlstone Conference & Retreat Center and then worked at CHAI: Comprehensive Housing Assistance, Incorporated, where she organized school communities for a Baltimore Education Coalition campaign that won $1 billion to rebuild or renovate dozens of Baltimore City schools. She was also a facilitator with Baltimore Racial Justice Action for several years, running anti-racism workshops for white people.

Molly serves on the Advance Maryland Board of Directors. She lives with her foster fail pup and the two of them enjoy daily walks in the woods by their home in Northwest Baltimore City.

Molly uses she/her/hers pronouns.
