It is essential that Council Chair Phil Mendelson hear from you before the Council budget vote to make sure that DC's budget is focused on racial justice and equity.
Come join Montgomery County JUFJ's virtual watch party on the council's public hearing! The hearing will be on the charter change to the 2020 ballot question. We will be starting at 7:00pm to discuss together before the hearing goes live at 7:30pm.
Yesterday Chairman Mendelson moved to repeal a modest tax increase and instead cut funds to vital social services in the middle of a global pandemic and economic crisis. Our partners, including the organizers who were planning to present on tonight’s call, are calling for an action tonight in response to this shocking, undemocratic attempt to strip aid from DC families and excluded workers.
We are therefore postponing our Just Recovery DC campaign call.
