Last week, the County Council approved the preliminary budget for FY22, which passed with FULL funding for the Community Resource Officer (CRO) program, and ZERO funding for culturally competent social workers.
This budget, proposed by the County Executive and approved by the County Council, is a complete disappointment to the students, educators, and community members who have been calling for the full removal of police from MCPS for a year now.

MC Watch Party: Public Hearing on Local Policing Bills
Join JUFJ and our partners to watch the virtual public hearing about 3 upcoming policing bills, which will impact the future of training, body-worn cameras, and county responses to litigation against the police.
The watch party will begin at 1 PM with an overview about the legislation, and we will begin screen sharing the hearing once it begins at 1:30 PM.
