Montgomery County Public Hearing on CIT Bill
Montgomery County Council Building 100 Maryland Avenue, Rockville, MDJUFJ is joining our partners from the Silver Spring Justice Coalition at the County Council Building in Rockville to mobilize against Bill 43-23, which would codify the Crisis Intervention Team (CIT). This harmful bill would open the door for a more pervasive police response to crises that involve mental health, behavioral health, and substance use disorder.
Montgomery County Board of Education Budget Hearing
Board of Education 15 W Gude Dr, Rockville, MDJoin JUFJ and our partners at the Board of Education for the first of two public hearings about Montogmery County Public Schools' Operating Budget, where community members will testify in support of their hopes for the school budget. We and our partners at Racial Justice NOW! and Young People for Progress are asking for fully funded restorative justice in MCPS.
